Hi there,
i'm being a bit dizzy here but i've gotton confused by your installation process.
I've completed 1 to 6 fine and dandy
- Upload entire directory to the
/wp-content/plugins/ directory
- Activate the plugin through the 'Plugins' menu in WordPress
- Navigate to the plugin Options in your admin menu.
- Configure your options and save.
- Navigate to the Category menu
- Add a category or two.
But now i'm confused (and the numbers have reverted on the list below). I don't know 'where' the directory is, what the url is nor understand what you mean by number 2 below adding the shortcode.
- Create a new page for the User submission form.
- Add the shortcode for the directory. eg.
- Add the shortcode for the form. eg.
- Activate the pages and start maintaining your directory.
Basically, I know i've installed it and have active categories and an active test link, but have no idea how to make it visible.
Sorry, but help would be appreciated :)
ps: sorry, god knows what happened i just cut and paste the instructions in and a load of ads appeared. Tried deleting them but the boxes remain. sorry again.

create a new page with the shortcode for the links.
Here I called it "Directory of Useful Links"
On that page you will need to add the shortcode for the directory to appear.
[ directory category=all ]
That will create the directory on that page.
Now you can create multiple pages for different categories. Just change "all" to the category id that you want to use for that page.
If you copy the above example you will need to remove the space before directory and after all. There cannot be spaces between the braces and the ends of the text.
I hope this clears it up a little.

Hi,
I just installed this plugin and have the same issue as Jules above.
I followed steps as described and created a test page and added the shortcode as described and all I get is "Powered by WP-directory-List"
I also entered the shortcode for user form entries and only
"get To use reCAPTCHA you must get an API key fromhttp://recaptcha.net/api/getkey"
and I added a link thru the plugin admin Add Link fields and noticed that it is listed twice in the Manage Directory listing at the top of that page, although this link does not show up on the page I created with the shortcode.
I did remove the spaces as you indicated above before inserting the shortcode.
I am running WP 2.71.
Thanks

I got public and private captcha keys and plugged them in on the options page and now the directory entry form does appear on the page with the shortcode.
But I did not check the "Require Captcha Validation for User submitted links?" at the top of the options page and it still seems to require the recaptcha keys.

There was a bug where it wasn't checking to see if you wanted to actually use recaptcha before trying to send the data to their website. Fixed it and another previously identified bug.
The Recaptcha check should be fixed.
Now if you want to actually use recaptcha in your form, you must use this tag where you want it to appear:
%RECAPTCHA%
ronm, do you have an example that I can see so that I can better understand how to help? A url would be great.

The tag has been in the other releases.
The check to see if you actually have a key and you want to use it is in 1.5.2. Whereas before it just tried to send the data and was failing if you didn't have a key.
See if that helps. If not then let me know and I will send you an email to get the url.
