After years of trying to keep people from actually making money playing online games, Sony has decided to actually profit from the practice.
If you ever thought of playing an online game or you currently plan an online game there is now an official means to make money from your hobby. All you have to do is sign up.
This keeps you from losing the account when you place it up for auction. It used to be that they went out of their way to squash any auction or selling of accounts. Many people would purchase an account only to have it locked when Everquest or some of the others found out. Many would lose thousands of dollars.
Do you have a character that you have been playing for a long time and amased quite a bit of wealth with it? Now is the time to look into selling it if you had thought about giving up playing but just couldn’t because of the time and money you had invested in the character.
I imagine that the first month or two of this new service will find quite a bit of activity with large resell values of characters. It will probably drop off after that once the newness wears off and everyone starts doing it.
I see it as easy money if you have a character that you have developed and want to stop playing or just get rid of it to make some quick cash. You can always start a new character. Especially if you know what you are doing.
